PPS 196S.39 – MAKING CHANGE IN COMMUNITIES: THE WORK OF LEADERSHIP
Explores leadership approaches to influencing change around tough issues facing Southern communities such as education and economic development, with a special emphasis on race and poverty. Students examine the meaning of leadership as a shared activity and explore a range of leadership approaches to creating social change, including collaboration and community organizing. A major class project allows students to analyze a current situation in a Southern community and conceive of strategies for change in that community.
