ELI Incubator Project ASPIRE Hosts Duke Game Day Field Trip for Durham Youth.

ELI Incubator Project ASPIRE Hosts Duke Game Day Field Trip for Durham Youth.

On November 19th, fourth and fifth graders from Lyon Park Community Center’s after-school program joined ASPIRE volunteers for the Duke vs. Georgia Tech football game at Wallace Wade Stadium, sponsored by ELI and the 1740 Foundation. Prior to the game, participants enjoyed the games outside the stadium including a football toss, a moon bounce, and an obstacle course! At half-time, everyone adjourned to the Sanford School of Public Policy for lunch and a discussion about the football game and good sportsmanship. Even though Duke suffered a narrow defeat, everyone had a fantastic time! ASPIRE and Lyon Park Community Center plan on coordinating more field trips in the future.
