Hart Leadership Congratulates its 2012 SOL Class.
The Hart Leadership Program congratulates eighteen students who have been selected to participate in the Service Opportunities in Leadership (SOL) program for 2012. The students are currently finishing up their work in the gateway course, Border Crossings: Leadership, Value Conflicts & Public Life, before they begin their community-based research projects this summer. Six students will work in Durham while another six will complete their projects all across the United States. The final six will work internationally in the countries of China, Chile, Egypt, India, Togo, and Turkey. In the fall, the “SOLsters” will have the opportunity to reflect on their summer experiences, create a policy portfolio, and build their leadership capacity through the SOL program capstone course, Adaptive Leadership.
