Shaina Lubliner

Tilted Windmills in New York, NY.

Shaina Lubliner (class of 2020) is pursuing a double major in Public Policy and Theater Studies. She is involved in several arts organizations on campus, including as the Program Director for the Project Arts pre-orientation program, and as a producer, director, and performer with Hoof 'n’ Horn, Duke’s student-run musical theater organization. After graduation, she wants to become an arts administrator, using her positive energy and leadership skills to make the arts a more inclusive and welcoming space for all.

This summer, she is working for Tilted Windmills Theatricals in New York, NY. Tilted Windmills seeks to create, develop, and produce unique theatrical productions. Their current productions include Puffs, Reefer Madness, and Frankie and Johnny.2019.

Selin Ozcelik

The Harmony Program in New York, NY.

Selin Ozcelik (class of 2020) is a Music and Public Policy double major. Originally from Turkey, Selin is deeply interested in the arts as a tool for social change. She began taking piano lessons at age six and continued her career as a pianist and French horn player through the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College division, California Youth Symphony, and now Duke University. On campus, Selin is a tour guide, resident assistant, and section leader in the marching band and the wind symphony. She recently became a conductor for Duke chamber ensembles and orchestras.

For her LAPI summer, Selin is working with the Harmony Program, which seeks to increase the accessibility of music education in New York City. Her interest in working with underrepresented groups in music grew after her experience tutoring young brass musicians at Kidznotes, a Durham-based El Sistema USA partner organization.2019.
