How to Apply for SOL
The application for SOL 2024 is now open! See below for more details.
SOL Application Process
1
Attend Our Info Session
The best way to learn more about SOL is to attend our annual SOL info session. The SOL 2024 info session will occur on Wednesday, September 27th at 5:30 PM in the Rhodes Conference Room (Sanford 223). A video of last year's info session can be found below.
At the Info Session you will learn more about the structure of SOL and hear from previous participants about their SOL experiences.
2
Apply Online
The SOL application is a Google form that asks applicants to write thoughtfully and concisely about their interests, experiences, and community ties. All Duke undergraduate students in their first, second, or third years are encouraged to apply.
The application for SOL 2024 is now open. It can be accessed at https://duke.is/w/rgf8.
Contact the Program Coordinator Lee Edelblut (lee.edelblut@duke.edu) with any questions.
3
SOL Orientation
Once students are accepted, they will receive permission numbers to enroll in the spring gateway course, “Leading In and With Community.” They will also commit to attend a SOL Orientation in November which will provide further guidance on preparing to participate in SOL.
