Project Compassion Research Binder

Abstract

This binder is a place where interns can talk to one another and build off the work of previous interns. We want to minimize overlap so we can move forward instead of redoing what is done. In my opinion, this is especially important as Project Compassion improves their evaluation process. If we can effectively communicate what each of us did, those who follow will know where to pick up and how to move forward. You can find an electronic copy of this document on the emachines computer in the Desktop folder entitled “PC Research Evaluation.”

My (Sharon’s) interest this summer was research and program evaluation. If that’s not your interest, you can build your own project and include it in this binder. If you start another project, update the table of contents, remove the old one, and add the new one! Hopefully, another intern will come along with interests similar to you or me and pick up one of the projects. Rosemary Hyde, who interned with me, will also be including a section about her work with neighborhood Support Teams.

My section of the binder will include an explanation of the surveys we developed during my time with Project Compassion. I included hard copies of the surveys in the binder, but you can also find them on the emachines computer Desktop in the folder entitled “PC Research Evaluation.” In my explanation of the surveys, I try to discuss my thought process on each of the surveys as well as summarize the stage at which I leave them.

I encourage you to read all the way through the binder and the different resources available at Project Compassion. They’ll come in handy later.
