Anushka Peer
she/herBIOGRAPHY
Anushka Peer is a sophomore from the Bay Area in California majoring in chemistry with minors in sociology and a certificate in health policy. She is passionate about advancing health equity, literacy, and education for rural communities and senior citizens. Anushka spent a summer in Ghana studying occupational health literacy of auto-mechanics and currently researches how sociodemographic factors affect postoperative recovery of surgery patients through the Duke Medical School’s Department for Spine Surgery. Through Laidlaw, she wants to further her work in these communities and is excited to be a part of the Hart Leadership community. In the future, she hopes to combine all her academic interests by becoming a physician-scientist. On campus, Anushka is involved with Duke Healthy Aging for America, the Duke-UNC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Education Advising Committee, plays flute for the Duke Wind Symphony, and conducts microbiology research. In her free time, you might catch her lifting at the gym, drinking her third matcha of the day, or running around West Campus.
