Putting Documentary Storytelling Tools into the Hands of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Community

Abstract

This summer I worked in partnership with Greater Charlotte Area Mutual Aid and the Living Archive. I developed my nonprofit leadership, project implementation, and strategic communication skills. The largest responsibility was managing the Oral History internship cohort. Our team catalogued over 50 interviews into our Covid Chronicles project database and partnered with the University of North Carolina in Charlotte to establish the sustainability and longevity of our collection. Moving forward, I hope to finalize the curation process of our existing interviews and shepherd our project into greater collaboration with the Living Archive initiative.
