The Hart Leadership Program has announced the 2023-2024 Hart Fellows: Sophia Chimbanda, Ayesham Khan and Quinn C. Smith. All three will engage in a self-designed fellowship experience, conducting their own community-based research projects and providing direct service to their host communities.

Since 1995, 113 graduating seniors or recent Duke graduates have been awarded the Hart Fellowship. Hart Fellows partner with community organizations around the globe and throughout the US for a 10-month fellowship. The goal of the Hart Fellowship is to create a mutually beneficial, sustainable and ongoing relationship between young leaders and communities. Together, they address complex challenges in innovative ways, allowing the fellows to develop their own vision of ethical leadership.

From a competitive pool of applicants, three graduating seniors were selected to be Hart Fellows based on their track records as leaders at Duke and beyond campus, demonstrated capacity for thoughtful engagement to address complex challenges, and compelling project proposals.
