A new episode of the Sanford School’s Policy 360 podcast features a conversation with Montana Rep. Jacob Bachmeier. Bachmeier is a Democratic member of the Montana legislature who became the youngest state legislator in the U.S. when he was elected at age 18 in 2016. Now in his second term. he represents approximately 10,000 people in a district President Trump won by almost 20 points. He visited campus in March as part of HLP’s “Bridging the Urban-Rural Divide” event. In the podcast, HLP Director Gunther Peck asks Bachmeier about how he decided to run for office and how he engages with voters who disagree with him.
