Ryan Davis is a first-year student from Santa Barbara, California, planning to study Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science. He is passionate about exploring the community-based aspects of translation in biomedical research and has acquired deep interests in niche fields of history and psychology. He is particularly curious about ethical uses of and approaches to the adoption of medical technology, and he hopes to further explore these interests through community research and engagement. At home, he has contributed to efforts to improve basic needs access and emergency preparedness. On campus, he has ongoing research and is also involved in Duke Aviators. In his free time, you can find him playing tennis, going on walks or runs around campus, or controlling virtual air traffic on the VATSIM Network.
