Applications are now open for the Leadership in Arts Policy Internship (LAPI). As part of the Hart Leadership Program, the Leadership and Arts Policy Internship gives Duke undergraduates the opportunity to spend an immersive summer working at the intersection of creativity and leadership. LAPI students receive $5000 in funding for a summer internship or community-based research project and take a spring gateway course (PUBPOL 213: Arts Policy, Leadership, and Engagement), which involves both off-campus excursions to experience the arts around the Triangle and a group research service-learning project with an arts policy-making organization at the local, state, regional, or national level. Beginning in 2024, LAPI students may complete a summer internship or project of their own design, or work with one of the community partners from the spring gateway class.
Interested students should attend open office hours with the Program Coordinator, Lee Edelblut, on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons between 2-5 PM in Sanford 115. Applications are now open and can be accessed at: https://duke.is/g/supt. The deadline to apply for the Leadership in Arts Policy Internship is Thursday, October 5th at 11:59 PM.
